Zodiac Roulette: A New Variation on a Classic Game
Often, the new variants of existing casino games disappoint. I guess it’s tough to reinvent the wheel. But occasionally, one comes along that hits the spot, and is worth a go. Zodiac Roulette is a fun take on this classic game. It’s more of a novelty roulette game, if we are to be honest, but we had fun with it.
Introducing Zodiac Roulette: The Basics
Let’s take a look Zodiac Roulette- the game includes many of the classic roulette bets in addition to one or two unusual additions. You have a good choice of standard betting options including straight-up and corner bets. There is also a wide range of ‘outside’ bets, including odds or evens, red or black and high or low. As with standard roulette variations, you can also place column or dozen bets that offer odds of approximately 3/1 and help you to lay down a decent table coverage.
So how does the game differ? Well, there are a number of different bets that give a twist on the classic game. The four main bets centre around individual signs of the zodiac. These include Air (Aquarius, Gemini and Libra), Water (Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio), Earth (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn) and Fire (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius). These pay out at odds of 3/1, with each sign linked to a specific number on the board.
Worth a Go?
Well yes, why not! You can test it out for free here anyway. This variation has some new bets, and although you are not going to improve the house edge (our rule of thumb is stick with European and French roulette for the best odds), it’s a fun variant. In basic mathematical terms, the theoretical return is 92.31%- quite a bit lower than the payout on European Roulette (97.4%). While Zodiac Roulette is certainly not the variation of roulette with the best RTP or the lowest house edge, and we wouldn’t spend our whole time on it, it’s a different spin and a new flavour.
